Airbus A350 mission

Airbus A350 is in service since 15th January 2015. Cathay Pacific is one of the leading operators of the Airbus A350 with 31 planes in April 2019. Only 250 planes of this type in all versions (A350-800, A350-900, A350-1000) were in service all around the world in April 2019. All European airlines (Lufthansa, Iberia, Finnair, French Bee) are using A350 only for long haul intercontinental flights and the ticket prices are very high. My aviation trip around the Taiwan was an ideal opportunity for my first flight with the Airbus A350 because i wanted visit the Hong Kong. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is connected with the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) more than 30 flights per day and almost all flights are operated by a wide body planes. Sometimes you can find the flight from HKG to TPE operated by A350.

 

Route CX402 

I found flights (CX402 HKG-TPE and return flight CX479 TPE-HKG) that are most frequently operated by the Airbus A350. I bought return tickets with seating option for the price around 200 EUR. I booked flight CX403 from Taipei to Hong Kong with departure at 9:10 am and the return flight CX402 from Hong Kong to Taipei with departure at 6:35 pm.

Before the flight

I received an e-mail with a lot of interesting information about my flight and destination. Online Check in starts 48 hours before departure. Information about the Cathay Pacific app or baggage is standard but socket information or weather forecast in the final destination is impressive. Only baggage policy 1+1 piece and 7kg was a little disappointment.

First flight of the day was CX403 from the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). Cathay Pacific check-in was at Terminal 1, count 3.
